Too many people talk about what Findlay doesn't have. We must sell the great qualities that Findlay and Hancock County already have in order to attract better paying jobs and population growth. Recent reports say that many area communities are experiencing a decline in population, not just Findlay. Many of these communities are just like Findlay in size and economic status. So, what can we do to make businesses and people interested in Findlay? We must aggressively promote our community by all means available. We must mention our strong points such as a new hospital with increasingly new technology and treatments, greater educational opportunities at the University of Findlay and Owens Community College, low crime rate, high fire protection rating, outstanding teachers and schools, nice clean parks, good water supply, access to interstate and railways. These are only a few of this community's assets. I am eager to get started working with business leaders, commissioners, trustees, and involved citizens.
